Highlights from January through August 2017

60 performances between January and June 2017 at the most prestigious concert venues and opera houses in Europe, Asia, and the US, in addition to many recordings -- baritone Matthias Goerne is one of the most versatile and sought-after singers in his genre.

Highlights of the coming months include his role debut as "Wanderer" in Richard Wagner's opera "Siegfried" in January 2017 with the Hong Kong Philharmonic under Jaap van Zweden, including a live recording; Franz Schubert's famous song cycles with Norwegian star pianist Leif Ove Andsnes on three evenings in Brussels and Paris (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées) early February 2017, followed by a tour with Freiburg Baroque Orchestra featuring Bach cantatas in Göteborg, Berlin, Istanbul, Moskau, and Rotterdam, including a CD production; performances at the Vienna State Opera in the role of Kurwenal in "Tristan und Isolde" (March 2017); six weeks with U.S. top orchestras (The Philadelphia Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and Pittsburgh Symphony); a tour with Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden under Daniel Harding (June 2017); and in August 2017 seven performances of Alban Berg's great opera "Wozzeck" (title role) in a new production by South-African artist William Kentridge at the Salzburg Festival; as well as many recitals, with Daniil Trifonov, and the Quatuor Ebène, among others.
